Zoot Enterprises to Open Art Gallery, Host Exhibit of Susan Burrows Dabney Artwork

August 25, 2006

Bozeman, Mont – Zoot Enterprises announces today the opening of the Zoot Enterprises Gallery, an art gallery space in its corporate headquarters at Four Corners, Montana.. In celebration of the opening, a major presentation of the work of renowned Montana artist, Susan Burrows Dabney, has been installed. The Dabney exhibit, "Painted Preservation: Rivers and Landscapes of the World," features her efforts to preserve the memory of open spaces. The subjects of many of her works are of landscapes which were once open, but have since been developed.

Zoot founder, Chris Nelson, wanted the Zoot corporate headquarters to serve community as well as corporate needs. He created a gallery space that would be dedicated to major art exhibitions that would be open to the public. "We've looked forward to this opening for a long time," said Eric Lindeen, Zoot's Director of Marketing. "We wanted to create a space that was both functional for our business and aesthetically pleasing to those who visit." Both the building's architect and a gallery display expert were charged with creating such a space at Zoot. Task-specific lighting, appropriately scaled wall space, and viewing distances that accommodate all forms of fine art are augmented by the natural atrium lighting.

Local artists designed this mezzanine-level space of Zoot headquarters specifically around the concept of displaying all forms of work, including paintings, sculpture, and multi-media work.. The museum-quality design allows patrons to view all forms of art in an intimate, private setting while providing distances from the works that enhance display and perspective.

Susan Burrows Dabney attended Garland Junior College, the Boston Museum School in Massachusetts, the Art Students League in Denver, and Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, Texas. Her painting style has been influenced through her studies with Quang Ho, and the noted Santa Barbara artist, Douglass Parshall, who encouraged Dabney to pursue and develop her style as a plein-air artist.

The public is invited to view the exhibit from Thursday, August 18th through Tuesday, October 31st , 9 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. The exhibit is free of charge.
